I.W.T.F. Working Terrier Show, a great day.

The Westmeath Working Terrier & Lurcher Show was held in Moate County Westmeath on Sunday 21st of July 2013.
This was the I.W.T.F.’s first working terrier show and was a great success for the Federation. The funds generated will help in the coming year to promote terrierwork and obtain valuable advise from Legal and Veterinary specialists.

Some of the important things at this type of working show for the I.W.T.F. is the quality of terriers, the calibre of the judges, and the craic that terriermen can come to enjoy with their family. The Westmeath W.T.C. delivered all of these things on the day. This will become the annual I.W.T.F. show for the future

The emphasis for the judges will be on their knowledge of working terriers, not any made up standard.

The digging competition brought out the competitive and the fun side of this event, probably the only true test of working in the field that can be judged at these gatherings.

Always remembering that the greatest danger to a working terrier is admiration in the show ring.

A big thank you to all involved. Especially the sponsors of the prizes and the donations received.
Visit the “About Us”tab under “Events” for photographs taken on the day.
