The Westmeath Working Terrier & Lurcher Show was held in Moate County Westmeath on Sunday 20th of July 2014.
This was the I.W.T.F.’s second working terrier show and was a great success for the Federation. The funds generated will help to promote terrierwork and obtain valuable professional advise for the challenges ahead.
This year we were delighted to host a stand from IFAcountryside, an organisation that has been behind the I.W.T.F. from the beginning. It was good for members to meet the representatives and inquire about their own specific requirements. The committee would hope to grow this partnership for a mutually beneficial future. See their website
www.ifacountryside.ie and click the I.W.T.F. page.
or if you prefer contact by phone and Barbara will process the request for you.
As we continue to emphasise, the important things at this type of working show for the I.W.T.F. is the genuine working terriers, the committment of the judges to this principle, and the chance for terriermen to catch up with friends and enjoy the occasion with their families. The Westmeath W.T.C. delivered all of these and more.
Kevin, Pat and the team produced a day to be proud of. John H. was outstanding as the terrier judge and a big thank you to John M. who had to step in at the eleventh hour and judged the running dogs so well.
The digging competition had to be postponed for safety reasons as we unearthed some old utility services. These lads can definitely dig!
Always remembering that the greatest danger to a working terrier is admiration in the show ring. A big thank you to all involved. Especially the sponsors of the prizes and the donations received.
